"Remembering Tommy Tyson"
I was a wet-behind-the-ears 17 year old freshman at ORU when I first encountered the spiritual fatherhood of Tommy Tyson when he was Chaplain at Oral Roberts University. His broad smile and bellowing laugh would melt ice in Alaska. He was disarmingly warm and gracious to everyone, then become a lion in the pulpit, challenging young Christians to a deeper relationship with Christ. He took me under his wing and made me Vespers Student Director. I spent most afternoons after class my freshman year in the Spiritual Life Office in the base of the Prayer Tower, so I had the honor of seeing Tommy up close his last year at ORU. He was a great man of faith and a spiritual father to so many. It is one of God's gifts to my own walk with Christ to have known and loved Tommy Tyson. Can't wait to see him on the other side -- and catch that smile and laughter once more!

"Truly in touch with the heart of God"
Enjoyed the videos of Tommy. He was a man truly in touch with the heart of God the Father and that heart is love. With the Lord's help, I'll finish that book!

"What a joy to be in his presence."
Tommy was a wonderful inspiration in the spiritual realm as well as in the natural world...so full of joy and love for God's children just where they were, not necessarily where they would end up. He lovingly, patiently accepted those on the journey, those in process. What a joy to be in his presence.
